Extinct Flatworms

Flatworms or Platyhelminthes are unsegmented, bilaterally symmetrical worms that lack a coelom (acoelomate), but that do have three germ layers. Some forms are free living, like the extinct one, but many are parasitic. The 2008 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species has listed only 1 species as recently extinct.
